Developer Nicalis has revealed that the forthcoming Nintendo Switch version of the hugely popurlar Cave Story, set to be known as Cave Story+, will arrive with a brand new gameplay mode. Furthermore, the developer has confirmed the North American release date for the title.
Seemingly designed specifically to take use of the Nintendo Switch’s array of input modes, Cave Story+ will feature a brand new co-operative gameplay mode. However, it was revealed via Nicalis’ Twitter account that this new addition won’t be available at launch, instead following later as a free update.
Cave Story+ will launch on 20th June 2017, it has been confirmed, as both a digital title on Nintendo eShop and a retail release. No European release date has yet been announced, though it’s currently expected to be around the same time digitally.
