Switch Streamers recently offered a guide to getting a Japanese Nintendo eShop account on Nintendo Switch, and many of our audience have welcomed the advice. However, there’s also been a demand for information in determining whether or not a videogame comes with English language as standard, so we’ve prepared a handy guide for this.
The Nintendo eShop, at present, is visually identical regardless of region. The difference is of course in terms of language, but all information is sorted and classified in the same way. On the Japanese Nintendo eShop, the language support is listed on each videogame title in the exact same place as the North American and European Nintendo eShops.
In order to determine whether or not a title includes English as a language option, select that videogame from the Nintendo eShop. Scroll down the page and look for the following characters:
対応言語
This is the entry that denotes which languages the videogame supports. Within this category the following characters will identify which languages are included:
日本語 = Japanese
英語 = English
It’s that simple!
